Aidan's 2-month checkup

He weighed in at 11lbs, 8 oz, which put him in the 40th percentile for weight. He was 22 1/2 inches long, which put him in the 28th percentile for length, and his head was 39.5 cm - 33rd percentile. He is growing beautifully, especially considering he was 2 weeks early and was a little on the small side at birth!

He had to get 5 vaccinations... no fun! He got 4 shots and the oral rotavirus vaccine, which he gobbled up! He cried his eyes out after the shots (can you blame him!?) but he calmed down quickly and came home to take a nap. He got a clean bill of health, and hopefully we won't be in the dr's office again until his next checkup at 4 months.

Just a quick cute pic of my happy guy - Aidan is two months old already! We go to the doctor tomorrow for his checkup, (and unfortunately, his shots). He's not so stingy with the smiles anymore - if only this picture came with sound, you could hear his cute "ooohs" and "aaahs" that he is cooing now. So sweet!

Big sister on duty!

Ava (and Daddy!) decided it would be a great idea to take Aidan for a ride around the house in her doll stroller. Sounds silly - but hey, he fits!



Aidan, on the other hand, doesn't look so enthused. And hey - isn't this a girls' stroller??

Ava's first official haircut

Over the past couple years, anyone that knows Ava knows she has not been blessed in the hair department! At her first birthday, she was still pretty much a baldie. Last summer, she got just enough for a couple short pigtails. And now, it is finally growing out a bit. Mom has given her a couple tiny "trims" since then, but it was time for her first big-girl haircut!

We took her to Cookie Cutters, a haircut place for kids. Autumn, her hairstylist that day, got Ava settled in the pink car, and let her pick out her cape - Ava chose the one with the fish on it. She wasn't too sure about the whole process (as you can tell in the picture!) but it turned out adorable!

It has been a rough winter - it has been staying pretty cold, even though it is March already, but this weekend we got a reprieve! It was in the 60's this weekend, perfect "sweatshirt" weather and it called for at trip to the playground!

Aidan is getting so big, so fast! He is 7 weeks old today. Time seems to stand still when you're up in the middle of the night for a feeding, or juggling both kids when one needs a nap and the other wants to play. But then you realize how far you've come, and it really has flown by!

I weighed him at home with me the other day, he is already over 10 pounds. Check out that double chin! This is the only time in his life that will ever be considered adorable!
